Plyometric Training at 43 Hoops is a 10-week program where athletes will receive intensive jump training as well as speed and agility training two times per week for 30 minutes. Each athlete in this training program will be tested at the beginning of the program, and at periodic intervals throughout the program. Tests will include vertical jump and speed drills. The goal of this program is to improve athletically in these areas, but more importantly, to reduce the risk of injury by teaching proper technique and developing strength in the core muscle groups, including abs, back and pelvis.
Athletes may start this 10-week program at any time throughout the year. It will be the player's responsibility to attend each session, be on time, work hard, and make the most out of each 30-minute session. No more than 2 sessions may be rescheduled; a rescheduled session must be scheduled within 7 days of the missed session. No refunds will be given for unused sessions. When registering, please indicate in the Notes and Comments section which two days (Mon, Tues, Wed, Thu, and/or Fri) and at what times you would like us to schedule you.
Our primary Plyometric trainer is Gwen Young, an NCSF certified personal trainer with a B.A. in Kinesiology and an M.A. in Organizational Management from Concordia University in St. Paul. Gwen was also a basketball player there for 3 years and before that won a Junior College national championship at Anoka Ramsey Community College.
